Smarter Stream - Education:

• Recommendation to establish “growth schools” or “youth advancement” centres for young people ensuring they are provided with educational opportunities and given practical skills to help them transition into the workforce.

Stronger Stream - Community Services, Volunteering & Disability Services:

• Recommendation to allocate a Minister for the Status of Men to deal with sex discrimination, equal opportunities and men’s rights.
• Recommendation to remove gender reference in anti-discrimination and domestic violence campaigns particularly when in 25% of domestic violence incidents men are the victims.
• Recommendation to increase support services for young people with a disability / learning difficulties.
• Recommendation to provide opportunities for teachers to be trained to educate children with learning disabilities.
• Recommendation to maintain and support mental health facilities located in Central West Sydney, as there are transport / travel difficulties for many families looking to access services.
• Recommendation to ensure homosexual students have access to support and services when bullied at school – protection against persecution for these students.
• Recommendation to ease relocation laws when assessing the best interests of children in a family law case. Parents are often forced to remain in one state, which can be restrictive, especially if one parent has family/employment opportunities.
• Recommendation to simplify reporting standards across Departments and Governments allowing NGO’s to meet accountability requirements whilst remaining focused on service delivery.
• Recommendation to stop further funding cuts to TAFE organisations and NGO organisations.

Healthier Stream:

• Recommendation for transparency on the rights of patients in an ambulance.
• Recommendation to have photo ID on Medicare cards to reduce fraud within the system.
