Smarter Stream - Education:

• Recommendation to reinstate the levels of achievement including credit, distinction and high distinction at TAFE, which have currently been simplified to competent and not yet competent. This has resulted in students lacking enthusiasm and incentive to achieve at higher levels.

Stronger Stream - Community Services, Volunteering & Disability Services:

• Concern that there is a lack of information regarding the rights of parents, grandparents, carers and guardians when disciplining their children. Concern that there is no Government knowledge about these rights or an avenue to access this information.
• Recommendation for individualised packages and funding models for carers and people with a disability.
• Recommendation for the NSW Liberals & Nationals to support the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
• Recommendation for increased core funding for recreational and cultural activities provided by NGOs.
• Recommendation for increased community engagement with the Indigenous community ensuring they have equitable access to services including health, education and housing.
• Recommendation for increased support for volunteers including access to training and development.
• Recommendation to ensure community based volunteer organisation providing transport services are given equitable access to financial support.
• Recommendation to increase the participation of young volunteers.
• Recommendation to target parents in early intervention programs ensuring they are part of the education process.

Healthier Stream:

•  Recommendation for computer-based medical records ensuring carers / individuals are not required to provide detailed histories every time they visit a new hospital or service provider. These should be available for carers and guardians so they are informed.
• Concern for the state of the NSW health system and the bullying that occurs in hospitals towards to staff that choose to speak out about poor conditions. Mechanisms need to be in place to ensure staff can speak out comfortably and confidently.

Safer Stream – Police:

• Recommendation that the NSW Liberals & Nationals support Keeping Them Safe.
• Recommendation to encourage communication and collaboration between all emergency services when creating a safer community.
• Recommendation to ensure all emergency services providers have technology allowing them to locate callers – this could help reduce the number of prank calls, as well as improve emergency service response times.
